Ken is an old friend of Roger’s who has shared a stage with many major artists, and currently plays guitar with Steeleye Span. He is an outstanding multi~instrumentalist, playing acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, banjo and ukulele with equal skill. But he doesn’t find it easy to transfer between guitars and a typical mandolin neck. The Touchstone Mandolin has a slightly longer scale than most mandolins, and a reasonably wide fingerboard, but Ken needed something even wider. This has a 34 mm neck, with guitar size fretwire and seems to have done the trick nicely. It has Indian Rosewood back and sides, fine Englemann Spruce top, curly Koa bindings, a rather sweet laminated neck and is a little beauty. Ken plays it fingerstyle.
